Biography: I am currently working as Associate Professor at the Department of Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. I am also the Director of the High Performance Computing and Networking (HPCN) Lab since 2013. Previously, I worked as a "Scientific Researcher" at Deutsche Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-Labs) Berlin Germany. During my PhD, I did my Internship at the Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM), UCLA Los Angeles, USA. I served in the Information Technology Infrastructure (ITI) department of Pakistan Telecom (PTCL/Etisalat) as Director/Divisional Engineer/Assistant Divisional Engineer. Prior, I was the regional services head of Siemens ICN Enterprise department and Manager Technical operations for TELIPS Pakistan.

Urdu Search Engine - Humkinar Pakistan
USE is a platform to crawl, process, index and rank Urdu language content to provide access to users. The main components of USE are Hadoop cluster, customized crawler NCL-Crawl, HBase distributed database, Web-AM content extractor, language and profanity filters, news topic classifier, and 13.0M webpages indexed in Apache Solr. Also, it provides dashboards for trends, user activity, and query analytics.

Epidemic Surveillance System
ESS is a real-time disease surveillance system based on 110M tweets to generate early warnings related to public health threats in Pakistan. The main components of ESS are tweet classifier and location classifier. Tweet classifier identifies tweets related to six epidemic prone diseases and further classifies each tweet as Indication or General tweet. The system monitors, filters, and visualizes tweets in real-time using big data and artificial intelligence algorithms

Political Sentiment Analysis System
Political Sentiment Analysis System: SMA is a real-time sentiment analysis system based on Twitter feed. It identifies Urdu tweets related to three major political parties in Pakistan using machine learning models. Sentiment polarity with respect to four aspects such as action, member, party, and projects is determined in real-time for Urdu tweets.

Propaganda Detection System
ProSOUL is a framework to identify content and sources of online propaganda spreading in the Urdu language on websites. The propaganda classifier identifies Urdu web articles using textual and psycholinguistic features for articles. It also assigns propaganda score to websites based on machine learning models.

HashScope
This framework classifies Urdu and English hashtags on Pakistan Twitter into six categories of politics, sports, religious, campaign, entertainment, and military. It also provides real-time analytics of Twitter Trends in Pakistan.

Manipfy
This system identifies malicious users involved in the manipulation of Twitter trends using textual and user behavioral features. Also, bot accounts are classified using meta information of tweets and users.

Corpulyzer
This framework automatically prepare and analyze high-quality corpora of natural languages to build systems such as plagiarism detector, chatbot, and Q\&A system. Currently, it provides access to analytics of 8.0M Urdu webpages.

Search as service is customized, low cost, and value added solution for businesses and government. Using our model, the client can display the customized search results of Humkinar on their digital platform like websites and applications. Moreover, clients can use the service to index and search from the content of the organization.

Ad-Exchange
Humkinar Ad-exchange system provides an opportunity to the advertisers to reach users through advertisements on the Humkinar Urdu search engine. Our system intelligently and automatically matches the needs of users and advertisers to display the advertisement to the users.

RouterLab
The Routerlab is a router centric, customizable testbed that reflects the macroscopic structure of the Internet, with different clouds and tier levels and simulation of differing access properties via network emulation. This, in combination with a flexible traffic generation framework, enables students to conduct Internet-level experiments on a small scale, within the borders of the server room.

LabTool
Routerlab's management platform called Labtool supports heterogeneous hardware landscapes and user groups (e.g., labcourse student teams, individual researchers working on differing layers, developers). To accommodate the span of differing requirements of these user groups, it offers both virtualized and bare-metal, non-virtualized resources and can support versioned, controlled changes to the physical topology.

QoE-Lab
A multi-purpose heterogeneous testbed that supports a variety of networking conditions to evaluate QoE in future Internet scenarios. QoE-Lab includes 1) NGMN networks, 2) access/backbone network emulation, and 3) virtualization. It provides services like traffic generation, topology emulation and high-precision cross-layer monitoring. The experiments are provisioned, orchestrated and analyzed by a tool called ExpAuto.
